What is Zero Waste?
Zero Waste is a system that focuses on diverting materials from landfills by implementing strategies to reduce, reuse and recycle discarded materials.
What is OAKLEAF doing to drive toward zero waste?
Since our inception in 1995 we have been focused on making businesses greener through various waste diversion strategies. We are committed to being on the forefront of new green initiatives, and have recently formed our Zero Waste TeamTM. OAKLEAF is the first organization to develop a team focused on the creation and development of national strategies to help industries build workable zero waste-to-landfill solutions.
How does Zero Waste benefit businesses?
There are many ways that your company can benefit by implementing our zero waste system, including:
- Creation of new revenue streams through recycling
- Increasing sustainability for long term success
- Reduction of carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions
- Tax credits for waste to energy
- Good corporate public relations
- Good corporate citizenship
- Real-time data for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reporting
- Ensuring a clean planet for future generations
- Gainshare incentives
By working together can we get there faster?
OAKLEAF can help your business reach its zero waste goals quickly by matching our recycling, waste, and sustainability expertise with our network of vendors to provide Zero Waste Solutions that are cost neutral or better. As the largest manager of generated waste in North America, we can collectively pool the waste volume of our clients in order to increase waste diversion from landfill today and foster the growth of emerging technologies tomorrow.
How do you become part of the process?
By partnering with OAKLEAF to drive toward Zero Waste, you can divert waste from landfills, and increase your economic, environmental and social bottom lines. For each 10% increase in waste diverted after Zero Waste is applied, one year will be added to the agreement. In addition, any savings from the established baseline, after the OAKLEAF SG&A recovery costs (not to exceed 10%), will be shared 50/50 between your company and OAKLEAF.
