Single Stream Recycling

Waste Management has a simpler solution for recycling and cost savings known as single stream recycling. Single stream recycling allows all source separated recyclables to be combined into one collection container for sorting at a specialty recycling center called a Material Recovery Facility (MRF). This can offer a major advantage over recycling programs by eliminating separate recycle containers allowing a streamlined collection and storage thereby achieving the highest level of participation from the client’s associates. Single stream recycling is a growing program and building across the country. Most MRF facilities have been established to support residential recycling programs, which makes them suitable for most recyclable materials generated in offices. Waste Management is taking aggressive actions to implement single stream recycling programs in established markets while continuing to research for new market potentials.

Single stream recycling allows a client to use one container for all their recyclable items such as:

Cardboard

Paper – newspaper, office paper, junk mail

Plastic Bottles

Steel and Aluminum Cans
